Financial Aid

Aid for All.

Each year we award over $1 million in scholarships. In addition to robust academic scholarships, we also offer scholarships for students pursuing certain majors, those with artistic or performing talent, people who live in neighboring communities, the list goes on.

It's all part of our mission of making college accessible for all.

How to Get Financial Aid

Aid for 2025-26 Academic Year

December 1, 2024: FAFSA application open

May 1, 2025: Priority deadline to file FAFSA for state aid

June 30, 2026: Deadline to file FAFSA for federal aid

 

 

Aid for 2024-25 Academic Year

December 31, 2023: FAFSA application open

May 1, 2024: Priority deadline to file FAFSA for state aid

June 30, 2025: Deadline to file FAFSA for federal aid

Eligibility

To qualify for federal financial aid you must...

  • Have earned a high school diploma or G.E.D.,
  • Be enrolled as a degree- or certificate-seeking student at SMC,
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-U.S. citizen,
  • Be registered with Selective Service (if male and 18 years of age or over),
  • Not currently be in federal loan default or owe a refund on a federal grant,
  • Not concurrently be receiving financial aid from another institution of higher education, and
  • Maintain SMC and federal requirements regarding Satisfactory Academic Progress.
