Course Description
Prerequisite: Minimum grades of C in ART 100; and ART 101, concurrent enrollment allowed. This course explores the history of typography, allowing students to identify and describe various typeface classifications and their characteristics. Students will apply typographic principles while gaining a deeper understanding of how typography influences visual design and its role in effective communication. The course culminates in a project where students will demonstrate their grasp of letterform design theory by constructing their own typeface. [Semesters Offered: Fall, Spring]
